In a statement to the Tanjug news agency, Bogdanovic stressed that the proposed resolution, which
the government yesterday forwarded to parliament, stresses that all acts based on the so-called Kosovo constitution are considered null and void.
He added that the proposal underlines that Serbian parliament thereby confirms the unanimous state policy towards the issue of Kosovo-Metohija and recalled that Marti Ahtisaari’s plan was not adopted at the UN Security Council and that Serbian parliament rejected it.
The EULEX mission is also enveloped in this resolution. We believe that it has no legal basis and is not a partner for negotiations, unless its presence in the province gets legitimacy by a special UN Security Council resolution or an alteration of the existing Resolution 1244, that is, its section which speaks about international civilian presence in the province, said Bogdanovic.
According to Bogdanovic, the proposed resolution on maintaining the continuity of state policy towards Kosovo-Metohija was supported by all members of the Serbian government, and the document is a recognition of the efforts made by previous governments which the newly elected government, headed by Mirko Cvetkovic, must continue.
He said that the upcoming parliament session is an opportunity for the new government and parliament to once again explicitly reiterate the stance on Kosovo’s unilaterally declared independence, and to clearly state that they will never recognise this kind of declaration of independence.
It is very important that this is a unanimously supported stance and is expressed in all contacts which the Serbian government and other state organs have with international representatives, stressed the Minister for Kosovo-Metohija.
