At an award ceremony for students of the Academy of Diplomacy of the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jeremic said that the year that is ahead of us will be very challenging for Serbian diplomacy and the government will have a very difficult task on the foreign policy level.
He said that the new government will continue the difficult struggle for preservation of Serbia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity by using all diplomatic, political and legal resources.
According to Jeremic, the pillars of Serbian foreign policy must not only be relations with Brussels, Moscow and Washington, rather also with the rest of the world and countries like China, India and Indonesia, that are becoming increasingly more important in global politics.
We live in a region which is encumbered by a tough historical burden, where relations with neighbouring countries are not very good. This is why developing and strengthening regional cooperation is of great importance for us all, and for our progress, stressed Minister Jeremic.
He recalled that during the past year he met with several foreign ministers with whom he discussed not just the Kosovo issue, but also renewal of relations with countries with which relations were neglected for the past two decades.
