Before several hundreds of worshipers, the liturgy was held by bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Bishop of Raska and Prizren Artemije, Envoy of Serbian Patriarch Pavle and Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral Amfilohije, and Vicar Bishop and Head of the Visoki Decani monastery Teodosije.
Serbian government representatives also attended today in Gazimestan the marking of the anniversary of the Battle of Kosovo, and after that Samardzic and Bishop of Raska and Prizren Artemije handout golden and sliver medals “Majka Devet Jugovica” (Mother of the Nine Jugovic Brothers) and financial assistance to the amount of €100 to every mother who has more than four children.
The medals were introduced by the Diocese of Raska and Prizren with the aim of increasing the birth rate in Kosovo-Metohija. This year, more than 90 mothers from this diocese with more than four children received the medals.
The Minister for Kosovo-Metohija attended the constitutive session of the Community Assembly of Municipalities of the Autonomous Province of Kosovo-Metohija held in Kosovska Mitrovica.
He stressed that Serbs and other non-ethnic Albanians loyal to Serbia now have democratically elected representatives and organs of authority.
According to him, they will represent a de facto portion of Serbia’s authorities in the field and help Serbs, Gorani and other non-ethnic Albanians loyal to Serbia to remain on their land and live safely as citizens of Serbia.
