Spain strongly supports Serbia

Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vuk Jeremic said this evening that Spain is one of the countries which strongly supports Serbia’s defence of its territorial integrity and sovereignty and European integration.
At a meeting held to mark the 30th year since diplomatic relations between Madrid and Belgrade were re-established, Jeremic said that no country has given clearer and stronger support to Serbia than Spain at all international forums where Serbian representatives defended national interests.
Serbia’s future is in the EU. We have great challenges before us because we are planning to acquire EU candidate status and then membership and we expect Spain’s clear support in the process, said the Minister.
Spanish Ambassador to Serbia Jose Riera Siquier said that Serbia and Spain have provided mutual support to each other during the past 30 years and Serbia can rely on Madrid’s support for EU integration in the future as well.
