The vehicles, worth €625,000, are a donation by the EU to the veterinary and plant protection directorates of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management.
Milosavljevic stressed that thanks to the donation, the directorates will perform their tasks more efficiently and in line with EU standards.
The donation is a continuation of cooperation between Serbia and the EU through the EAR, said the Minister and noted that the total assistance given by the EU from 2000 onwards exceeds €1.3 billion.
According to him, the government and Serbian citizens are grateful for the assistance and appreciate the efforts of the European people to help Serbia become part of the European family.
He recalled that a year ago the Ministry also received 120 vehicles which are now used by inspectorates.
Head of Operations of the European Commission Delegation in Serbia Ferenz Simon explained that the vehicles will help representatives of the veterinary and plant protection directorates to reach remote places and inspect farms and facilities in order to control the quality of agricultural food products.
Head of the Veterinary Directorate Miroslav Marinkovic said that with the vehicles, inspectorates can reach all parts of the country and do whatever is necessary in case of disease, adding that producers will be the first to notice the improvement thanks to this donation.
Head of the Plant Protection Directorate Stevan Masirevic said that the vehicles will be another important link in the food production chain and protect people from poor-quality food products.
