During his visit to inspect works on sector 4 of the Belgrade ring road, Djilas stressed that the opening of this part will reduce traffic in the centre of Belgrade.
The Minister said that works on this part, which is 7.7 kilometres long, cost RSD 4.9 billion, and added that today the contractors were paid RSD 250 million.
According to Djilas, a sum of RSD 2.7 billion has been allocated from the NIP for the ring road project, in 2008, and Belgrade City has provided RSD 2.2 billion for completing works.
Djilas stressed that works on the ring road, which are being carried out by the company Jugoslavija Put, with contractors Planum and Mostogradnja, are going according to plan and present a fine example of good cooperation between contractors and the city and republic government.
Construction of the ring road will make it possible to divert trucks and other heavy vehicles from city roads, explained Djilas.
