Serbian Minister of Environmental Protection Sasa Dragin and Romanian Minister of Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development Attila Korodi signed today a Memorandum of cooperation in the field of environmental protection.
Dragin,
who is on a visit to Bucharest, said after the signing of this document that this Memorandum envisages cooperation in sub-border and border areas to prevent possible accidents.
He said that this is the first document in this sphere signed between Serbia and Romania after 1955 and added that Serbia will try to apply European standards in this field as soon as possible.
Serbia’s priorities are pollution control and environmental protection education.
During today’s visit with Korodi, Dragin proposed that the two countries exchange experts so that Serbia can implement European laws as soon as possible.
Korodi explained that the Memorandum envisages cooperation in the field of harmonisation of national laws with European standards, application of conventions and international agreements and documents for environmental protection.
