Samardzic-Markovic said at a reception held in the Palace of Serbia that a lot of work has been done since the ministry was formed.
We attempted to change our approach and focused not only on attaining top results but also on the process of achieving them, said Samardzic-Markovic.
She recalled that during its one year of work the ministry built smaller sports facilities, halls and swimming pools, so that they are accessible to more people.
Assistant Minister of sport Dragan Atanasov stressed that the ministry made major contributions to the system of regulating sport.
Atanasov said that the ministry has spent RSD 1.5billion on financing sports to date, and added that now the moment has arrived to adopt a national strategy for the development of sport, and to form an action plan.
The Olympic Committee of Serbia, the Serbian basketball and handball associations and the Anti-Doping Agency of Serbia were among those who received award plaques and recognition for the results achieved.
