Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Bozidar Djelic said today that the National sustainable development strategy, the final draft of which was presented today in Ivanjica, will make life better for Serbia’s citizens.
In a statement to the Beta news agency, Djelic said that after this strategy is adopted, the Serbian government will set up an office for sustainable development, draw up an action plan and secure funds for its implementation.
The aim is to set aside €330 million from the budget until next year, of which half will be secured from the domestic budget, and the other half from foreign sources, he said and voiced hope that by 2011, that sum will have reached €660 million.
The Serbian Deputy Prime Minister said that during preparation of the strategy, several pilot projects were realised, such as the
factory for recycling electronic waste in Belgrade, the first of its kind in the Balkans, the timber waste recycling plant in Bajina Basta and the tyre and rubber recycling factory in Irig.
The national sustainable development strategy was adopted at yesterday’s government session.
