Joint activity of Serbia and UN in implementation of Resolution 1244

Serbian Minister for Kosovo-Metohija Slobodan Samardzic and Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vuk Jeremic talked today with UN Chief for Peacekeeping Operations Jean-Marie Guéhenno about future joint activities of Serbia and the UN in implementation of Resolution 1244.
The talks also dealt with specific problems Serbs and other non-Albanians are facing after the unilateral proclamation of Kosovo’s independence.
The officials agreed that this process should start as soon as possible, with the aim of achieving peace and stability in the province until a compromise solution concerning the future status of Kosovo-Metohija is reached, in line with Resolution 1244, it is added in the statement.
