Following the signing, Lakicevic-Stojacic stressed that one half of 523 associates will “prune down” PIO’s data bases, and the other one those of the Tax Administration.
She noted that the Central Register is a centralised body in which various data on citizens and companies will be archived.
According to her, this body may be set up as soon as end-2009, however it is necessary to bring order into all data bases, that is, PIO and Tax Administration’s register books.
Lakicevic-Stojacic emphasised that everyone will thus be enabled to get insight into the state of their own social, health and pension insurance more easily.
Cvetkovic stressed that the contract is part of the pension system reform in Serbia and noted that it enables citizens to get acquainted with relevant data on pensions, social and other contributions and deductions.
Within the project themed “Consolidation and Reform of Pension Administration in Serbia”, financed by a $25 million loan from the World Bank, a unique system for collecting contributions for social insurance is to be introduced, which will help overcome problems of the current system.
