Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vuk Jeremic will begin a two day visit to Luxembourg today, where he will meet with EU officials and hold talks on Kosovo-Metohija, the continuation of Serbia’s European integration and general cooperation with the EU.
Jeremic stressed that the Foreign Ministry delegation will once again present Serbia’s firm and principled stance that it cannot abandon the struggle to safeguard its territorial integrity and sovereignty under any circumstances.
He said that he will inform EU officials that Serbia plans to demand from the UN General Assembly in September that the question of the legality of the unilateral declaration of independence by Kosovo be raised and that the International Court of Justice be consulted.
The Foreign Minister said that he will also talk about signing the Stabilisation and Association Agreement between Serbia and the EU as soon as possible.
He explained that the aim of the Serbian Foreign Ministry delegation’s visit to Luxembourg is to prepare for the debate, which will be held by the EU foreign ministers on April 29.
Jeremic said that he will also meet with top EU officials in Luxembourg and added that it is expected that a strong signal of support for Serbia’s full EU membership will be given at the meeting of the EU foreign ministers.
