Serbian Minister for Kosovo-Metohija Slobodan Samardzic stated today that the Netherlands has no right to set terms to Serbia on its EU accession since as it violated international law and the initialled Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA).
Samardzic said that Dutch Foreign Minister Maxime Verhagen should be more concerned about how his country violated the UN Charter, UN Security Council Resolution 1244 and the initialled SAA when it recognised Kosovo as first NATO state.
The Netherlands therefore has no right to set any conditions to Serbia regarding the signing of SAA. Serbia requires from the Netherlands to respect international law and Serbia’s legitimate borders which are guaranteed by the Helsinki Final Act and recognised by over 150 countries, the Minister stressed.
He underlined that it is very important that the Netherlands respects reality and sees its real place and obligations in international relations.
