At the signing of a long-term contract on business and technical cooperation between the Trepca mining and metallurgical complex and footwear maker Obuca Beograd, Dinkic said that the state will cover one-fourth of the cost of all private investments in Kosovo that employ 20 workers or more.
That is a new programme of the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development for Kosovo-Metohija, which aims to stimulate the private sector in Serbia.
The basic aim of the action plan is to initiate production and provide employment to Kosovo Serbs since this is the only way they can stay in the province, and jobs and secure income for Serbs will establish Serbia’s economic sovereignty on its entire territory, said the Minister.
Dinkic said that he will begin talks with UNMIK representatives, in order to formally take over the process of privatisation and restructuring of companies in Serb majority areas in Kosovo.
He said that according to a contract between the mining company Trepca and the Obuca Beograd factory, production will begin in May.
According to Dinkic, the factory will employ 100 workers, of which 70 are already on the payroll of Trepca, and €100,000 will also be invested in the factory.
This will turn an unused space into a factory and 100 people will get permanent jobs. Obuca Beograd, in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development has decided to transfer part of its production equipment to Leposavic, said Dinkic.
The agreement on cooperation was signed by director of Trepca Jovan Dimkic and director of Obuca Beograd Bora Stankovic.
