Belgrade, April 22, 2008 –Serbian Minister of Environmental Protection Sasa Dragin said today that thanks to ratification of the Kyoto Protocol, Serbia has a clean development mechanism in place, which means that more developed countries that invest in clean technologies in Serbia will receive a carbon offset for greenhouse effect gases.

Dragin said in an event called “Live Together” organised today to mark International Earth Day that the planet must be preserved and left in a better condition for future generations.
The event marking International Earth Day was organised by the society for supporting people with developmental disabilities Stari Grad and the Ministry of Environmental Protection.
