The council decided to open advisory centres for consumer protection in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Kragujevac, Nis, Subotica, Zrenjanin, Sabac, Uzice, Zajecar and Leskovac and to launch a call centre.
The setting up of these centres will improve the level of consumer protection and will bring Serbia closer to EU standards.
Also, proposals and initiatives of consumer protection organisations were discussed.
This council, as a tripartite body composed of representatives of organisations of consumers, distinguished professionals in this area and ministries, has a legislative and coordinating function in the creation and implementation of consumer protection policy, in line with the practice of EU member states.
