Serbian Minister of Trade and Services Predrag Bubalo and Russian Minister for Emergency Situations and Disaster Relief Sergei Shoigu signed last night in the Russian Embassy in Belgrade a working protocol on cooperation of the Russian-Serbian joint committee for commercial, economic and scientific-technical cooperation.
The two ministers agreed that agreements reached during a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Serbian President Boris Tadic in January this year should be reaffirmed.
Bubalo and Shoigu agreed that it is necessary for Serbian parliament to ratify the energy cooperation agreement before May 11 and that the sale agreement for Naftna Industrija Srbije (NIS) should be signed soon.
They also agreed to intensify trade relations between Serbia and Russia.
The two officials also discussed the intention of the Privatisation Agency to sign an agreement with Russian SMR on the sale of RTB Bor.
Bubalo and Shoigu expressed satisfaction with the implementation of the first phase of Russian humanitarian aid to enclaves in Kosovo.
In the second phase, Russia intends to send 10,000 tonnes of wheat to Kosovo. The seventh session of the Russian-Serbian committee will be held in September, Bubalo said.
Bubalo added that the energy deal with Russia is important for Serbia, for the development of Serbian industry and noted that the Russia is worried because the ratification of the agreement by Serbia is late.
