Officials of the Serbian and Romanian defence ministries signed today in Bucharest a bilateral military cooperation plan for 2008 which envisages a series of joint activities and the exchange of experiences in various areas.
The plan envisages 20 joint activities, such as cooperation on budget planning, military and medical activities, joint exercises and crisis management.
Apart from State Secretary of Defence Dusan Spasojevic and Romanian Minister of Defence Teodor Melescanu, the plan was also signed by heads of international military cooperation directorates from both defence ministries.
Spasojevic, who is wrapping up his two-day visit to Bucharest today, also met with Chief of General Staff of the Romanian Army, Admiral Gheorghe Marin and in the afternoon he is to meet with State Secretary of Foreign Affairs Buga Iulian.
Yesterday, Spasojevic met with Romanian Defence Minister Teodor Melescanu and Chairman of the Romanian Parliament’s Foreign Policy Committee Stefan Glavan.
According to Spasojevic, Romanian officials supported Serbia’s stance on Kosovo-Metohija, as well as its EU integration process.
