Djilas said on that occasion that this fair is important because more and more is being built in Serbia. He said that two thirds of funds from the NIP will be used this year for construction of roads, railways, and introduction of gas systems in schools and hospitals.
Serbia is a big construction site and some 1.5 million of square metres of business and housing space are being built in Belgrade alone, while total investments stand at over €1 billion, the minister said and added that it is good when construction companies expand their business operations because in that way more people are employed in accompanying fields.
The SEEBBE construction fair, under the slogan “Let’s build ideas”, will last until April 19 and will gather over 1, 000 exhibitors from 31 countries of Europe, Asia, and the US.
Due to great interest, the fair is bigger by 30% than last year. According to the exhibition space, and the number of domestic and foreign exhibitors and visitors, the construction fair in Belgrade has become the most important specialised fair in this field in southeastern Europe.
