March retail prices up by 1.6%

The Serbian Statistics Office said today that prices of goods and services in Serbia in March rose by 1.6% against the previous month.
Compared to March 2007, retail prices in March 2008 went up by 13.6%.
Observed by groups, the greatest increase of prices against February this year was recorded in food and non-alcoholic beverages (2.8%), transport (1,8% due to higher petrol prices), housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (1.5%), clothing and footwear (0.7%) and the prices of services in restaurants and hotels (0.6%).
The prices of other goods and services remained at almost the same level.
