On his visit to the factories in the Voganjski Put industrial zone, Dinkic said that ten major European companies are ready to invest more than €1 billion in new investments which would create 26,000 new jobs.
Speaking to the executives of the rolling mill, the Minister said that steel armatures, which Serbia imported from Ukraine until now, will now be produced locally in Sremska Mitrovica, leading to foreign currency savings.
He stressed that this is the largest investment in Sremska Mitrovica, and added that a total of €50 million will be invested in the rolling mill and a new smelter will be built in the mill.
Besides the 110 new workers, who were employed in the first phase, a further 200 workers will be employed in the factory, said the Minister. He added that production will meet ecological standards, and the latest equipment will be used.
Speaking about the factory Moeller, Dinkic explained that this is the only major greenfield project in Sremska Mitrovica, which the Serbian Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SIEPA) and the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development supported with an incentive worth €2,000 per new employee.
According to him, nearly 1,000 workers found employment in this company that started operating in 2006, and it is planned that between 300 and 500 workers to be recruited in the upcoming period.
Dinkic said that 90% of the company's production is exported, mostly to the EU, which is a good example of how a foreign company, with its technology and markets, employs people in Serbia and is also the example that we must follow.
He pointed out that the state is ready to support the development plans of the two companies and pointed out the Sremska Mitrovica is again becoming a serious industrial centre.
According to Dinkic, two big companies from Japan and China are to soon start building their plants in Sremska Mitrovica.
Dinkic pointed out the substantial employment opportunities offered as part of the programme by the National Employment Service and highlighted that the local government in Sremska Mitrovica supports foreign investors.
The Minister announced that the invitation to tender on the sale of Matroz from Sremska Mitrovica, in bankruptcy, will be announced within ten days.
