Milosavljevic told a press conference that all medicines arrived last night shortly after 11 pm, except for a portion of dental materials.
Speaking about UNMIK customs which held back the medicines for two weeks because it demanded authorisation from the Kosovo agency for the distribution of medicines, the Minister pointed to the gravity of the issue of future medical supplies to health institutions in Serb towns and villages.
He also voiced pleasure at the work of the World Health Organisation (WHO) and stressed that cooperation was flawless both with this and other UN organisations.
According to him, head of the WHO office in Serbia Dorit Nitsan and coordinators of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry for Kosovo-Metohija will meet today with UNMIK representatives to discuss the issue of supplying medicines.
Milosavljevic announced that the health centre in Kosovska Mitrovica will be given new medical equipment and announced that several ambulance vehicles have been procured for health institutions in the province.
The Minister noted that the delivery of equipment to health institutions in Serb communities is being carried out without any problems and that medical treatment is available to all patients regardless of their nationality.
