Djelic said at a presentation of this sport event that 60% of the amount will be set aside from the Serbian budget, and 40% from the budget of the city of Belgrade, adding that RSD 5 billion will be secured for this purpose next year.
He said that three sectors will be the most important in the organisation of Universiade this year, these being civil engineering, textile industry and furniture industry. A total of €4.1 million will be spent for clothing of Universiade participants and the public purchase in that field will be RSD 200 million, Djelic specified and added that a tender for textile producers will be called in the second quarter of the year.
Djelic underlined that all the money that will be invested in Universiade from the state budget will remain to the Serbia and its citizens, explaining that 25 sport facilities and furniture in student dormitories will be renewed this year.
Director of company Univerzijada Beograd 2009 Sinisa Jasnic said that the estimates are that operational costs of Universiade will be €114 million, while revenues will be approximately €200 million, if everything goes as planned.
Jasnic said that the
agreement with company Varteks from Varzdin on provision of clothes for particiapants of Universiade was cancelled by mutual consent, while a new tender will be prepared in the next three weeks and completed in the second quarter of this year.
The jubilee 25th summer Universiade will be held from July 1 to 12, 2009 and over 12,000 contestants from 170 countries will compete in 21 sport disciplines.
The Serbian Deputy Prime Minister said also that the technical government does not have the capacity to adopt laws. Therefore, the laws on ratification of the energy agreement with Russia cannot be adopted, just as there is no parliament of Serbia to which it can send the agreement to ratification.
Djelic said that the agreement on energy cooperation with Russia, signed in Moscow on January 25, envisages that it should be implemented temporarily until it is ratified, and therefore there are no legal gaps of any kind.
He said that this agreement will be adopted by a new government when it has the full capacity, and it will be ratified by the future parliament.
Djelic said that implementation of the energy agreement is underway and that the gas part has been signed already, adding that the Serbian government has started to form a joint company of Srbijagas and Gazprom, and that the teams of the Serbian oil industry NIS and Gazprom Neft are already working on the process of data verification.
