Popovic said in a statement to the Tanjug news agency that Romania requested the postponement because of the NATO summit being held in Bucharest from April 2 to 4, and recalled that the signing of an agreement in Bucharest on joining companies from Romania, Serbia, Croatia and Italy, which will build the Pan-European oil pipeline, was scheduled to be held one week before that.
According to Popovic, Romania asked for the postponement purely on account of security measures and organisational preparations for the NATO summit.
Popovic said that the meeting concerning the Pan-European oil pipeline has been postponed until the middle of April, and added that the Serbian government is working in a technical capacity only, but that this is not the reason for postponing the meeting, as reported by certain media quoting a statement by the state secretary at the Romanian Ministry of Economy and Finance.
