Miroljub Labus
Labus, who toured the construction site of a new cardboard packaging plant in Sremska Mitrovica yesterday, stressed that each municipality must have a mini industrial zone with required infrastructure in order to attract investors, the Beta news agency reported.
The new law on local governments appropriates enough funding for each municipality to improve its economic growth, he added.
According to the Tanjug news agency, the Deputy Prime Minister said that the latest hikes in the prices of sugar, milk and dairy products are unjustified and insisted that the government will protect consumers and take every economic measure to stabilise prices.
There will be no devaluation of the national currency, Labus went on to say, stressing that the country’s hard currency reserves increased by $150 million in the past few months.
Labus also noted that Serbia must accelerate its privatisation process, stressing that privatisation aims to help encourage economic growth and create jobs.
