Speaking at Spomenak, a home for children without parental care in Pancevo, Ljajic talked about social care for children without guardians, and recalled that since 2005 the system of social care for these children is being intensively reformed.
Our goal is to reduce the number of children staying in institutions. We have succeeded in cutting down this number from 1,900 to 900. Now we have more than 4,000 children in foster homes, said the Minister.
He said that mini fairs will be held for representatives of companies which are willing to employ secondary school graduates and students from establishments for children without parental care.
The home for children without parental care “Spomenak” received a donation from the Raiffeisen Bank consisting of 10 computers with printers, which were handed over by President of the Raiffeisen Bank Executive Board Oliver Roegl. The bank has also arranged for a computer course to be held for children staying in the home.
