Sutanovac told a press conference after meeting with the Algerian President that the defence of international law is the only right position advocated by Algeria.
He said that this visit of the Defence Ministry is strategic and that he discussed with Algerian officials military-technical and military-economic cooperation.
The Ministry of Defence decided to open a number of places for education of officers from Algeria, Sutanovac announced noting that military cooperation with Algeria can again be like it once was.
Algeria has great capacities, while Serbia has know-how, and therefore there is an opportunity for joint projects, he said.
The Minister expressed satisfaction as after 50 years he brought from Belgrade a collection of recordings from the time of the Algerian Revolution.
That material is now ownership of Algeria and the Ministry’s delegation visited the Algerian Military Museum, where photographs by Stevan Labudovic from the period of Algerian battle for freedom against France in 1960s are displayed.
Sutanovac laid a wreath at the Monument of Unknown Hero in Algiers and also visited the Serbian military cemetery from the First World War, where he also laid a wreath.
Remnants of 324 fallen soldiers of the Serbian army were buried there in the period from 1916 to 1919.
The Ministry’s delegation is ending official visit to Algeria today.
