The meeting was attended by Minister of Trade and Services Predrag Bubalo, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Slobodan Milosavljevic and representatives of edible oil companies Dijamant, Vital, Sunce and Banat.
Government representatives and edible oil makers agreed to prevent further instability of the market due to the price increase.
Dijamant representatives said this company currently has a reserve of 33,000 tonnes, which will be retailed for RSD 109.5.
The Ministry of Trade and Services announced strict controls of retail outlets and rigorous fines to prevent any attempt of re-sale.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management said it will support the action of distributing sunflower seed for free in order to increase sunflower-grown fields from last year’s 135,000 hectares to 200,000 hectares.
