In a statement to the FoNet news agency last night Jeremic said that so far Vietnam has had a firm and principled stance on the Kosovo issue, namely it advocated preserving Serbia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and the search for a compromise solution to the province’s future status.
Jeremic, who will meet with Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem in Hanoi, said he intends to harden their stance on Kosovo.
Jeremic said he will also discuss bilateral relations with his hosts and recalled that Vietnam is a leading country in Southeast Asia and the Non-Aligned Movement, with a population of 85 million and one of the most dynamic economies not only in Asia, but also in the world.
He announced that he will also talk about ways to improve economic cooperation between Serbia and Vietnam, as well as the expansion of trade and engagement of Serbian companies in an economy in which everyone is investing.
During his stay in Vietnam, the Minister will hold a lecture themed "The Danger of the Kosovo Precedent to the International System“ at the Academy of Diplomacy.
