Addressing the press at the Serbian Army's General Staff, Spasojevic said that the decision by the US to deliver weapons to Kosovo is "adding fuel to the fire".
He said that even during negotiations on the status of Kosovo in Vienna, Serbia had a principled position that the formation of an army by an independent Kosovo would be overstepping the mark and something we are not willing to tolerate.
Kosovo-Metohija needs peace and stability, the State Secretary stressed and added that there are already enough weapons in Kosovo and it does not need any more.
Serbia should continue defending its territorial integrity and national interests in a peaceful and dignified way, Spasojevic said and concluded that national security does not depend solely on weapons, but first of all on good diplomacy, a good economy and educated people, and that is what is lacking in the entire region, especially in Kosovo.
