In an address to reporters at the Military Academy, Sutanovac expressed regret over the death of an UNMIK policeman from the Ukrainian contingent in yesterday's conflicts in Kosovska Mitrovica.
He said that the deceased was a citizen of a country that did not recognise Kosovo's independence and a man who was keeping the peace in the province under the UN flag.
The situation could create a crisis which on a diplomatic level might harm our position, considering the fact that it is based on diplomatic activities in the Security Council and cooperation with countries which do not recognise Kosovo. This is a very bad signal, said the Minister.
Sutanovac also said that he is disappointed with the fact that March 17 was chosen as the day for the disproportionate use of force in order to throw Serbs out from the court building in Kosovska Mitrovica. He added that it is incomprehensible that women were also placed under arrest during this incident.
