February retail prices, services up 0.6%

The Serbian Statistics Office stated today that retail prices of services and goods in Serbia in February rose on average by 0.6% against the previous month.
In February 2008 compared with the same month 2007, retail prices jumped by 12.5%.
By groups, compared with the previous month, the greatest increase in prices was recorded in prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages 1%, transportation prices 0.9% and alcohol beverages and tobacco 0.4%. Other prices did not change significantly.
CPI COICOP presents a special retail prices index calculated according to the methodology harmonised with recommendations for retail prices index calculation in the EU (Harmonised Price Index).
CPI COICOP is defined as a measure of average change of retail prices of goods and services used for personal consumption.
