In a statement to the Tanjug news agency, Samardzic stressed that Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija and other citizens loyal to Serbia should not be worried about the government’s decision to hold fresh parliamentary elections and constitute a new government.
He noted that the current government will keep performing its duties in Kosovo-Metohija as it has done until now, and explained that this means all ministries will conduct a unified policy based on the Serbian constitution, Serbian parliament resolutions in effect and adopted action plans.
According to Samardzic, the Ministry for Kosovo-Metohija will specifically take care of the needs of citizens and together with other departments continue carrying out Serbia’s state functions in its southern province.
Samardzic stressed that Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija, as well as other nationals in the province who wish to do so, will be able to vote in the upcoming election and chose their political representatives.
That democratic act will be carried out in Kosovo-Metohija, as well as in other parts of Serbia, and in doing so we will show that Kosovo-Metohija is an inseparable part of Serbia, emphasised the minister.
