Serbia to make all efforts to return Kosovo under its sovereign control by peaceful means

Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vuk Jeremic said today in Geneva that Serbia will make all peaceful efforts to return Kosovo-Metohija under its sovereign control and to have the illegal declaration of independence by the province annulled.

Jeremic said that during the session of the UN Human Rights Council he conveyed that the independence of Kosovo was declared in violation of international law.

The Minister said that during the talks he stressed that Serbia advocates returning to the negotiating table and a peaceful solution to the Kosovo issue. He reiterated that Serbia will not resort to the use of military action.

According to Jeremic, Serbia will fight to keep Kosovo from becoming a member of any international organisation.

The key to our victory in this round of the diplomatic battle is keeping the number of countries that recognise the illegally declared independence of Kosovo at a minimum and to stop Kosovo from becoming a member of international organisations, said Jeremic.

Serbia will fight to keep the illegal state of Kosovo from becoming a member of any international organisation from the UN, the OSCE, the International Labour Organisation, and the International Telecommunication Union to the International Olympic Committee, reiterated the Serbian Foreign Minister.
