In a statement to the news agency Tanjug, following a meeting held in the Serbian embassy in Moscow, Bubalo said that this is especially true of the food, metal and defence industries. He added that agreement was reached with Kogogin that visits should be intensified, and a delegation from Tatarstan is expected to arrive in Serbia in April.
He said that at the beginning of May, a Serbian delegation will visit Tatarstan so that businesspeople can familiarise themselves with the possibilities for cooperation.
The Republic of Tatarstan is an area which is known for its production of KAMAZ trucks, as well as aircraft parts, given the fact that the largest part of Russia’s defence industry is located in Tatarstan, explained the Minister and added that the Serbian machine industry can cooperate well in the supply of parts.
It was jointly assessed at the meeting that since Serbia has a more developed food production and processing industry, the Serbian food industry can increase its exports to the Tatarstan market, he said.
He said that it was agreed at the meeting that working groups should be formed, and intensive cooperation between businesspeople should begin. The basic task of politicians is to bring businesspeople from this part of Russia and Serbia closer in order to determine joint economic interests.
Considering the fact that the production of vehicles, the aviation industry and the military programme are of major importance in Tatarstan, they need light industry products, such as textile and leather products, as well as garments and furniture, said the Minister. He added that the Serbian economy has great opportunities in the markets of Tatarstan.
Talks with Kogogin wrap up Bubalo’s three day visit to Moscow, during which he
led a Serbian state level economic delegation at the third session of the joint committee of Serbia and Moscow.
The delegation included Serbian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Slobodan Milosavljevic, President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce Milos Bugarin, Belgrade Deputy Mayor Radmila Hrustanovic, representatives of the ministries of economy and regional development, health, trade and services, as well as representatives of several Serbian companies.
