Jeremic pointed out that the forming of this group was done illegally and is not within the scope of the UN Security Council’s mandate. The Minister stressed that forming this group is an utterly unacceptable act for the Republic of Serbia.
The forming of the International Steering Group for Kosovo represents a clear intention to disregard the UN Security Council and Resolution 1244 as well as to make obsolete the role of UNMIK mission as the only body with full legitimacy in Kosovo-Metohija.
Jeremic repeated that the Republic of Serbia never gave consent to the establishment of EULEX mission in Kosovo-Metohija, pointing out that the UN Security Council is the only one that has authority for establishing an international presence in Kosovo-Metohija.
