On Aug 13, 2003, two Serb boys were killed and four other children injured while swimming in the Bistrica river in Gorazdevac near Pec. The perpetrators of the attack in which Pantelija Dakic, 11, and Ivan Jovovic, 20, were killed, and Djordje Ugrenovic, Bogdan Bukumiric, Marko Bogicevic and Dragana Srbljak wounded, have yet to be found.
A documentary entitled “Gorazdevac – Life without Life,” will be broadcast on Belgrade TV station B92 today. The documentary has been prepared by the Voice of South monthly, in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture.
Local and foreign officials, and representatives of Kosovo authorities and the international community severely condemned the Gorazdevac attack. The United Nations Security Council held an emergency session to denounce the attack as well.
Outgoing UN police commissioner in Kosovo Stefan Feller said that UN police have made every effort to track down the culprits and bring them to justice. Police investigation is still underway, said Feller, adding that the case will not be closed.
Around 1,000 Serbs currently live in Gorazdevac.
