Ljajic handed over 100 kilograms of food to the kitchen and stressed that the ministry will continue to help Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija since this is the only way that they can stay in the province.
He said that a bread machine, which is essential for the kitchen, will be delivered soon. He stressed that it is important that the most vulnerable groups in Kosovo-Metohija are given help through concrete actions, since they will only stay in the province if the state continues to support them.
Representatives of the soup kitchen, which provides food to 432 socially disadvantaged persons and four schools in the area, informed the Minister about the problems they are facing, and pointed out that Serbs living in Kosovo-Metohija receive very little social help.
In Gracanica, Ljajic will meet with directors of eight social welfare centres from Kosovo-Metohija to discuss concrete activities aimed at helping the poorest categories of citizens, since the government tasked the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy with all social issues.
The delegation will include State Secretary at the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy Zoran Martinovic and coordinator for the implementation of the Ministry’s action plan Bojan Andjelkovic.
