In an interview for RTV B92, Djelic announced Serbia will fight so that Kosovo is not granted access to any international organisation and stressed that according to its action pan, Serbia will reconsider its relations with countries that recognised the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo-Metohija.
According to him, Serbia must make wise and deliberate moves which will result in the international community recognising its own mistake which can have tragic consequences for international legal order.
Djelic stated that a technical team from European Commission is in Belgrade today, attending a dialogue titled "Transport and Energy", and added that next week a Serbian team will travel to Brussels to discuss visa abolishment.
On March 10–14, a European delegation will visit Serbia to discuss the harmonisation of Serbia’s legal system with the European in the areas of the judiciary, and the protection of human rights and freedoms, he announced.
According to Djelic, Serbia must acquire EU candidate status by year’s end, and visas should be abolished so that Serbia can gain access to structural funds for regional development.
Speaking about the violence that broke out after the protest on February 21 in Belgrade, he pointed out that that most important thing is to show that it was not endorsed by the state.
Today’s session of the National Security Council will examine the reports of the relevant services about what took place that day, explained Djelic and said he expects appropriate action to be taken.
Djelic emphasised that it is in Russia’s interest to have Serbia and the EU as its friends, and noted that Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said that when it comes to Kosovo-Metohija, Russia is completely unanimous on the issue and can support Serbia only.
