Serbian Minister of Trade and Services Predrag Bubalo stated that the timing of the visit is extremely important since it will be an opportunity for Russia and Serbia to affirm their joint stance and the principled policy they are conducting when it comes to the illegal separation of a portion of Serbia’s territory and the creation of the fictitious Kosovo state.
Bubalo, who is also co-president of the Serbian-Russian Committee for Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation, stated to the Tanjug news agency that Medvedev’s visit will also be an opportunity to encourage the implementation of the recently signed Agreement on cooperation in oil and gas industry between the Serbian and Russian governments.
We believe that the agreement will have an enormous impact on Serbia’s economic growth and development, said the minister and added that several other projects will be looked at during Medvedev’s visit, primarily those concerning infrastructure, industry and the overall improvement of economic relations between the two states.
According to Bubalo, the time is right for Serbia to establish versatile relations with Russia.
