The Serbian Ministry of Justice stated today that with the aim of strengthening institutions of the Republic of Serbia in Kosovo-Metohija, the judges and employees of Serbian nationality who have worked so far in the UNMIK judiciary, will return to their original judiciary organs in Kosovo-Metohija.
The Ministry of Justice received statements from judges, court staff and magistrates of their resignations from the positions they held in UNMIK judiciary and their return to the judiciary organs of the Republic of Serbia in Kosovo-Metohija. This is in line with the Joint Declaration of the Serbian government and UNMIK on hiring judges and public prosecutors of Serbian nationality to work in the multiethnic system of Kosovo-Metohija, and the Conclusion of the Serbian government from April 26, 2007.
In this way, 5 judges and 25 employees will return to the municipal courts in Leposavic, Vucitrn, Kosovska Mitrovica and Pristina, and to the municipal misdemeanour courts in Leposavic and Zubin Potok, reads the statement.
