Milosavljevic said that the donation will be used to purchase a herd of goats and equipment for shearing and milking sheep, and told the monks that the government will also work on assisting the brotherhood in gaining certification for the geographic origin of the wine produced in the monastery.
According to him, the physical presence of Serbs, the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Serbian state on every inch of Kosovo-Metohija’s soil best shows that Serbia will never give up on its province.
Visits such as this one, as well as activities and all future visits by government representatives must focus on providing better living conditions and development for Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija, explained Milosavljevic.
He invited all Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija involved in agriculture to register their farms and homesteads in order to receive assistance from the agricultural budget.
Djilas said he is pleased to see that every time he goes there, the monastery is doing better than before.
He stressed that the government is united in its policy to defend Kosovo-Metohija and it also agrees it is not enough to simply issue declarations, but that concrete assistance is necessary if people in Kosovo-Metohija are to see that Serbia is fighting for its province.
The monastery is the pillar around which the people gather, therefore the state will endorse its development, stressed Djilas and added that every investment in sacred facilities is an attempt to preserve Serbia’s spirituality and historic heritage, as well as an investment into the country’s future.
Bishop of Lipljan Teodosije said that the arrival of government representatives is a huge encouragement for the brotherhood and the people in Kosovo-Metohija to help them persevere and remain close to their sacred facilities and sites.
We hope that the time we are living in will pass quickly, that all the hardship and temptations will be transitory and that we will overcome them, just as our forefathers did said Bishop Teodosije.
Following the visit to Visoki Decani, the ministers also visited the winery in Velika Hoca, in which RSD 5.2 million from the National Investment Plan has already been invested, though the government intends to grant it another RSD 1.3 million.
Milosavljevic and Djilas will also visit the northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica.
