Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Bozidar Djelic met today with Romanian Ambassador to Belgrade Ion Macovei and told him that the government and the citizens of Serbia are very grateful to Romania for its principled respect of international law and for not recognising the unilaterally proclaimed independence of Kosovo.

Macovei and Djelic agreed there is a mutual interest to increase trade and cooperation between the two countries, especially in the areas of energy, and the car and textile industries.
A visit by Romanian businesspeople and investors to Serbia in the near future was agreed on.
