Speaking at the opening of the International Brand Fair 4, Bubalo said that a recognisable image of Serbia as a dynamic and inventive European country will have a huge impact on the influx of investment leading to quicker economic growth, increase in the volume and structure of imports, introduction of European standards and development of entrepreneurship.
According to Bubalo, the national image of Serbia should include a wide range of activities and areas, as well as a rich system of values to promote the country’s unique characteristics.
He said that the aim is to establish as many various product and service brands as possible which will make Serbia recognisable the world over. He explained that individual product and service brands and a national brand image are interdependent to a large degree.
Serbia itself should become a brand and take its place in the global market. It is necessary to show the world all of Serbia’s brands, and to create new values and we will make all efforts to make Serbia more modern and developed, said the Minister.
He said it is also necessary to develop a branding culture in order to reduce the gap between Serbia and developed countries and to offer sophisticated and well marketed products and domestic brands on the global market.
Bubalo, who four years ago opened the first Brand Fair, said that his event has a great influence on experts and businesspeople and raises awareness about the need to intensively implement marketing strategies and branding in business.
President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce Milos Bugarin recalled that the chamber launched the initiative of a five-year programme for improving competition in Serbia, which should contribute to brand development.
As part of the fair, expert lectures will also be held by renowned marketing experts such as Kevin Keller, Charlie Crow and Diane Cromer.
The Brand Fair, which will last until February 9, attracted several exhibitors from Serbia and abroad who are presenting their products, services and business strategies.
The exhibitors include companies such as McDonalds, Microsoft, Bambi, Alpin and Podravka.
