During his visit to the construction site, Ilic said that the Belgrade railway hub, into which €1.3 billion have been invested so far, is an important transit centre of the Corridor 10, on which Belgrade is currently a bottleneck.
He said that works will begin very soon, which will create conditions for calling a tender to build some 120,000 square metres of business space around the station.
The plan is to relocate the existing Belgrade railway station and to build 100,000 square metres of office space in its place, in a capital investment that will create more than 30,000 jobs. said Ilic.
The completion of the Prokop is expected in a year or a year and a half, and the entire project will cost some €40 million.
Today’s visit to the site was also attended by representatives of some foreign banks and firms that have shown interest to loans for the project. Siemens and Philips should approve a 10-year loan for equipment procurement.
