In December 2007 compared with the same month 2006, retail prices jumped by 11%, whereas the average annual growth was 6.5%.
By groups, compared with the previous month, the greatest increase in prices was recorded in alcohol beverages and tobacco 3.4%, followed by food and non-alcoholic beverages 2%, transportation prices 1.8% and prices of restaurant and hotel services 0.6%.
Other prices did not change significantly.
CPI COICOP presents a special retail prices index calculated according to the methodology harmonised with recommendations for retail prices index calculation in the EU (Harmonised Price Index).
CPI COICOP is defined as a measure of average change of retail prices of goods and services used for personal consumption.
