State Secretary at the Serbian Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Dragutin Radosavljevic handed over today in Kosovska Mitrovica assistance worth nearly RSD 7.5 million to representatives of local self-governments of Strpce, Obilic, Prizren, Glogovac, Kosovo Polje, Pristina and Lipljan.
Speaking at a press conference held in the international press centre of the Ministry for Kosovo-Metohija in Kosovska Mitrovica, Radosavljevic said that the local self-governments mentioned received financial assistance for projects with which they competed for assistance from the ministry’s games of chance fund.
He explained that technical equipment that will be purchased with the funds approved will enable better work of the local self-government, and that living standards of citizens will be improved because the funds will be used for infrastructure and certain facilities as well.
For the Ministry and the Serbian government, all local self-governments have exactly the same status, Radosavljevic underlined and added that future competitions that will be published in the Official Herald will also be open for local self-governments from Kosovo-Metohija that can compete with their projects and apply for financing, just as all other local self-governments from Serbia.
The state secretary also visited yesterday the Istok municipality and delivered financial assistance in the amount of RSD 8 million to the municipalities of Pec, Gnjilane, Zubin Potok, Leposavic, Orahovac and Istok.
The Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government provided funds for a total of 13 municipalities of the administrative districts of Kosovo, Kosovsko Pomoravlje, Kosovska Mitrovica, Pec and Prizren.
Representatives of these districts received decisions on the allocation of financial assistance in the total amount of RSD 15.5 million for the projects with which these municipalities applied at the public competition announced by the Ministry for allocation of funds obtained through games of chance.
