In an interview for the news agency Tanjug, Bubalo said that the negotiation
platform for the Serbian negotiating team has been adopted, so that after these talks a clear picture could emerge regarding the entire agreement. He added that there still are many more questions which the two sides should discuss and settle.
He said that the agreement on cooperation with Russia in the fuel sector is important also because at present Serbia is facing enormous energy shortages, mainly in gas.
The Minister said that establishing cooperation with Russia could solve the energy problem in advance for the next few generations.
We have witnessed that many EU countries have intensive negotiations with Russia concerning energy supply, said Bubalo and added that Serbia, which is a country very much dependent for energy, must resolve this matter adequately.
The Minister said that huge investments are required in the oil sector.
When gas is in question, Serbia has a good opportunity to become a transit country through this agreement, which means that other countries would be supplied with gas from a gas pipeline going through Serbia, explained Bubalo.
