Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vuk Jeremic said today that the government's priorities in 2008 will be preservation of the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity and accelerated integration into the EU.
Jeremic said at a New Year's reception for reporters organised in the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs that 2007 has been difficult and complex, a year of great efforts and great challenges in Serbia's foreign policy.
He said that the next year will be important for this Ministry, which will carry out institutional and personnel reforms envisaged by the new Law on foreign affairs.
We want to use the institutional framework which this document is giving us and to fully reform the Ministry, Jeremic said and added that the recently adopted law gives a clear and well-defined institutional framework for the Ministry's reform.
The Minister thanked the reporters on very good cooperation this year and on the level of coverage which the foreign policy has been given in the media in 2007.
