Sending EU mission to Kosovo-Metohija contravenes international law

Media Advisor to the Serbian Prime Minister Srdjan Djuric condemned today the statement of EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security Javier Solana in which he said that sending an EU mission to Kosovo-Metohija would not be a contravention of international law.
In a statement to the Beta news agency, Djuric said that Solana’s assertion, which claims that an EU mission is a legal means for implementing the rejected Ahtisaari’s plan and would not defy international law, is as true as Solana’s decision that NATO should bomb Serbia without a UN Security Council decision was legal.
The Prime Minister’s Media Advisor recalled that Javier Solana has been an active participant in all stages of the Kosovo crisis, from the bombardment to attempts at illegal unilateral implementation of Ahtisaari’s plan, which was not approved by the UN Security Council.
Perhaps the time has come for Solana to refrain himself and at least once stay away from participating in illegal decisions against Serbia, said Djuric.
